My Haven Holiday!

I’ve spoken before about how I’m a sucker for a UK holiday because it’s what I’m used to, so my boyfriend and I booked a 3 night stay at a Haven resort. We chose Rockley Park which is near Poole. It’s not far away from us at all but that’s what was so great about it, especially as I just hate long train journeys and neither of us can drive.

We’ve been on so many city breaks since we met but we’ve never been to an actual holiday park. I was a bit bored of going to cities and staying in hotels so I wanted something different. Both of us love the countryside and hate being stuck in a city all the time so it was the perfect answer!

Going in October made it a lot cheaper than it would usually be but it was still so warm, especially the day we arrived. We had a cute little caravan which was actually nicer than our flat. We payed a small amount more for one that was so nice, but I don’t regret it at all.

We did a lot of walking and exploring of the park. There was a private beach, a public beach and lots of countryside to walk through. We stayed away from the activities as they were mainly aimed at kids but we did go to the evening shows on the day we got there, even though they were a bit terrible. We had a go at the crazy golf and spent way too much money in the arcades.

There’s a shop on site with everything you could possibly need, plus a few different places to eat – the food in general was very nice! I would definitely go back to a Haven Holiday, but I’d probably choose a different one next time as we explored pretty much every inch of the surrounding area.

Around the caravan park there was a gorgeous lake which was perfect for walks. It was beautiful and felt like the most relaxing place on the planet. It was so quiet other than children walking past every now-and-then and the only other people in sight were fishermen.

On the Saturday it rained a lot so we spent most of the time relaxing in the caravan and spending money in the amusement arcade (we ended up with about 600 tickets oops) which I didn’t mind because it was a good chance to relax.

On the Sunday the weather was much nicer again and so we went for multiple other long walks, exploring another beach and going back to the lakes. Later on we had some food and settled down to watch the first episode of Doctor Who before an evening walk back to the beach. We were the only ones on the beach in the dark and there was no noise whatsoever so it was so peaceful.

I can’t wait to go on another holiday like this in the future, I keep wishing I was back there where there wasn’t a worry in the world.

Have you ever been on a Haven holiday?

I’ve been to Rockley Park once – we stayed one night there in our old VW Campervan after a party on a boat in Poole Harbour!

I love caravans, they remind me of my childhood. UK holidays are the best, it’s what I’ve always known and I don’t have a passport. I never been to a haven resort but kinda wanna go now.

I’ve never been on a Haven holiday but we used to go to a lot of caravan parks when my sister and I were younger. I loved staying in a static caravan and getting to enjoy the evening entertainment and one site facilities.
